Erectile dysfunction medications took in Glengormley

Large amounts of unlicensed medications have been seized by Department of during a search of a home in Glengormley.

A guy was talked to by department officers about illegally importing and consequently providing unlicensed impotence medications by means of the internet.

The 47-year-old was also questioned about other medicine offences.

He will now be the subject of a report to the Public Prosecution Service.

The search was performed by the department's Medicines Regulatory Group.

Its senior enforcement workplace, Peter Moore, said: "It is important that we get the message throughout that unlicensed medications can be harmful.

"These kinds of products being sold, normally online, have actually gone through no quality assurance and there can be no assurance about their security.

"You just do not know what you are taking or the conditions these products were made in. More importantly, you do not understand the impact drugs like this may have on your health."
